PB Valley Khao Yai Winery is one of the pioneers of Thai wine. Its vineyards sit in the rolling countryside of Pak Chong district, and a visit makes a relaxed half-day: a guided tasting tour, a walk among the vines and lunch at the winery restaurant.

Overview

The winery traces its story to 1989, when Dr. Piya Bhirombhakdi set out to make quality wine in Thailand. The first vineyard covered about 20 hectares, and its first harvest milestone came in 1998. Varieties grown include Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Shiraz, Tempranillo, Durif, Dornfelder and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery has received Kinnaree Awards from the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Highlights

  • Guided tasting tours of the vineyard and winery
  • The Great Hornbill Grill, the winery’s restaurant
  • Vineyard views, especially pleasant in the cool season
  • Wine to take home

Getting there

PB Valley is on the western side of Pak Chong district, so it is easiest to reach by car. If you plan to taste, book a driver or take a tour so nobody has to drive afterwards.
